Shield & Stallion Insurance for What’s Next
IT consultant insurance

IT consultant insurance for implementations, SOWs, and client systems.

The buying problem is a client indemnity and access to their environment. Technology E&O and cyber are the usual pair. Coverage depends on the form. We transact only where licensed. Binding sits with the carrier.

Consultant vs MSP

Project work and implementations are usually an IT consulting file. Ongoing managed access is closer to an MSP file. If you do both, say so. We will not force one label if the work is mixed.

A general professional-liability form may exclude technology services. Tech E&O is the version written for this work. The form still controls.

What clients put in the SOW

  • Specified E&O and cyber limits
  • Additional insured and waiver language
  • Admin or privileged access to their systems

Email the insurance exhibit after you submit. A certificate does not create that wording.

Today

Technology E&OFailed implementations, missed SOWs, and a client who says the project caused a loss. This is the cover most technology consulting contracts name.
CyberAccess to client environments, even for a defined project, changes the file. A policy written for an office with no client access will not answer that schedule.
General liabilityInjury and property damage if you work on a client site. GL is not the professional-liability answer.
Workers compensationRequirements vary by state, employer type, and workforce. Classification matters when people work at client locations.

As you grow

Larger SOWsClients may request limits in the multi-million-dollar range. Send us the exhibit. We will identify what can be satisfied, what may require an endorsement, and what may not be available.
Ongoing admin accessIf the project becomes managed service, the file starts to look like an MSP. See MSP cyber insurance.
SubcontractorsYou remain responsible to the client. Contingent liability and their certificates are part of the conversation, not a substitute for your own policy.
